※ 빅토리아주의 주도인 멜번은 호주에서 두 번째로 큰 도시로 호주에서 가장 유럽적인 도시이면서 비영국 출신 이민자들이 가장 많은 다 민족 도시입니다. 얼마전에 벵쿠버에 이어서 세계에서 이만자들이 가장 살기 좋은 도시 2위에 꼽히기도 했죠. 여기엔 동양인들이 아주 많아서 우리 나라 사람들이 가도 전혀 주눅들지 않는답니다.

이 글은 지난 1월 중순, 엄마, 윤섭이와 함께 멜번을 다녀온 형섭이가 6일 동안 멜번 일대를 여행하면서 보고 격은 일들에 대한 기록입니다. 모든 글은 형섭이가 적은 것을 조금도 바꾸지 않았고 사진을 넣고 보기 좋게 문단을 나누는 일은 BOF가 도왔습니다.

Last Saturday, Paul, mum and I went to Melbourne for 6 days.

Same as last time, Frank and Maureen took us to the airport. Well, this time, they took us to Williamstown Airport instead of Broadmeadow Train Station. They are very good neighbours. This trip was much easier because we took off from the airport near us. Last time, we had to depart from Sydney!

The flight took off at 1:30. We said goodbye to Frank and Maureen and took off. I slept most of the time on the plane. I woke up when the plane started to descend. Mum was scared of the plane and she seemed a little sick.

After we arrived we had to put on more clothes because it was very cold. We went to our hotel. It's called 'Hotel Enterprise'. There are 2 kinds of rooms and we thought we had the good room but we actually got economy room, which is a bad room. But, we made the decision that we won't change our room.

Then, we went for a walk. We went to the hotel called 'Sofitel Hotel'. It was much better then the Hotel Enterprise. When we were going to Sofitel Hotel, we saw some trams passing by. Melboune looked like a spider web because of the wires for the trams.

Anyway, we visited the 'beautiful' toilet. You can see most of Melbourne from there. And we also went to a restaurent. It was a bit expensive but it was yummy! And the view was also awesome too.

It was still bright so we had a walk for 2 hours. We visited some cathedrals such as St. Pauls and St. Patricks. Paul claims St. Pauls cathedrals is his.

We also visited Flinders Street Station, which is the oldest train station in Australia.

We realised there are so many old buildings in Melbourne. But my feet were hurting and we went into Sofitel Hotel.

We waited for the sky to get dark and we went up to that beautiful toilet. We took some photos. In addition, it is located in 35th floor.

Then, we came back, riding a taxi. Mum said, "Even though Melbourne is a big city, it is much more easy to find a way than Sydney because we walked around the whole city today."

Then, we came back to our room. We washed ourselves and went to bed for the big day tomorrow.
