When making a friend, what I most consider is the similarity of my interest or my personality. Friends mean a lot in your life, so they are very important. You have to think deeply as to whether the person is suitable of becoming one of your friends. When you have a friend who is somewhat different your friendship could become uncomfortable.
Having similarities with your friend could be a very beneficial thing. First of all, you can have more fun together enjoying activities you both like. For instance, you and your friend share the same hobbies and interests. Both of you can enjoy being together, talking and doing the things you and your friend each have been doing before. When you have a friend that opposes your personality or has different hobbies, it will be an easy situation for frequent conflicts and arguments.
Also, similar friends understand each other better. When you have a problem, you would normally go to your parents. But, there are moments that you have a dilemma that you can’t easily talk to other people about. That’s when your friend comes and helps you. Friendship could strengthen through each other’s understanding, by hearing each other’s words. In my case, there was a friend who gave me very helpful advice about many personal problems, such as breaking precious things that belonged to my parents.
To conclude, I choose to associate with friends who are similar to me, because they enable to make my life happier and easier. Hanging around with friends who are similar to me could be more enjoyable than being with friends who are different from me. Also, my friends and I could have a good relationship, advising and criticizing each other. Like the animals that group together, connection and kinship could mean everything when it comes to friendship.
