Topic: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people enjoy life more than older people. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Older people look back at their past and regret about lots of mistakes they have previously made. So, they tend to stay depressed, longing for the days when they were youthful. Young people, carefree and unburdened, easily pursue their own happiness and enjoyment through playing. They have nothing to be worried about, and carry less responsibility.
Like I said, young people are carefree. They don’t have any work to struggle with every day, unaware of what the real world is actually like. They only know the ‘fun parts’ of life, when older people, knowing everything about the real world, worry and can’t help thinking about everything complicated in the world. The fact that they carry more responsibilities than the young people makes it harder for them to have fun. Thus, I believe that youths enjoy life more than older people.
Young people are physically healthier than older people. That also can be a factor that decides whether the life is enjoyable or miserable. People naturally develop muscles as they grow up. However, from a certain point of age, your body weakens as time passes. You can’t run as fast as you used to. You can’t lift up heavy objects like you did before. Like this, less stamina keeps old people away from what they want to do, while young people actively do everything they want.
In conclusion, young people can get more pleasure and enjoyment from their lives than old people. In my opinion, young people’s oblivious carefree mind and sound health is what makes them cherish their lives, finding their pleasure and happiness. There is one thing I want to say to the young people. ‘Enjoy your life while you can.’
